Day 1: Welcome & Presentations

The Presentation Running order is...

Today: the first full day of the Academy!
We heard thousand and one presentations in our course and understood, of course, every detail of it: every form, process and system that exists in the wide and interesting world of biomimetic. We analysed the bottom-up and top-down process of every topic and learned how to give feedback about everything, the others did wrong (and right).
The most important things we did today were singing about exotic fruit-salad in the choir, eating and analysing the weather.

Looking forward to tomorrow and the following days, and we hope to learn very interesting and fascinating things.

Our 18 pre-course presentation on the first “real” day at academy.
Everybody is listening to the interesting presentations.
Johannah is telling us something about the Velcro (the most popular invention in bionics!)

  1. We didn't sleep well, but we slept... eventually.
The morning sports was difficult without having breakfast before.
The breakfast was well prepared (normal, nothing special).
Then we started to hold our presentations.
Everybody was great and we all had fun.
Lunch was cordon bleu and other yummy meals.
At 2pm we made weird noises in the choir and sang about tropical fruits.
Then we enjoyed our five-minute free time, before we went on with our presentations. Now we're writing this extraordinary blog post.

    1. Greetings Anonymous 1, 2 & 3!
Sleep - chatting or new surroundings? Have you met the insect life yet? :-)
Breakfast... I love the academy food, but if you like chocolate milk you have to get there early!

Presentations... So, what order did you present in and do you have any photos? It would be fantastic if one or two minions could summarise what you learned on day 1.
Ah, the famous and delicious academy lunch... it's making my cry just thinking about the all the goodies I am missing ;-D
Erm, as someone who was 'banned' from the choir in 2009 I cannot comment on your strange noises and obsession with tropical fruit? Oh dear, poor minions :-D
Did you join the pre-breakfast jog-&-swim or are Peter and David doing something else this year?

FILE SHARE: if you have any photos - of minions at work, presenting, final projects, etc, then please give them to Mel or Janina so they can upload them to our dropBox folder. This will mean I can start to put the blog together.

Best wishes to all minions, be kind to your hard working course-leaders and enjoy every single minute. Carpe Diem!

      Nick
